Ceili Babies — Preschool Irish

This is a high energy, fun Irish class for preschool aged dancers (2-4 years). With music from popular preschool artists combined with traditional Irish tunes, they won’t be able to keep their feet still! They will learn basic Irish dance technique, but most importantly have lots of fun.

BEGINNERS

This Irish class is for Beginners level Irish. Dancers must be school age, and are either just starting out in Irish dancing, or have not yet progressed out of beginners. This class will lay the foundations of Irish dancing and encourage the love of the music and dance. Beginners will be able to attend competitions once they have mastered their first beginners dance (usually by term 2 or 3), and depending on the dancer, sit their grade 1 exam.

Advanced Beginners/

Primary/

Elementary Irish (Non-Championship Level)

This Irish class is for dancers who have progressed out of beginners level, but have not reached Championship level yet. Dancers in this class must have both soft shoes and hard shoes.

This class is designed to help students refine their Irish technique, while still having fun learning a unique dance style. These students will still have the opportunity to compete at local competitions, sit for grade exams, and progress through Irish dancing, but classes will not be as intense as the Championship level.

TEAMS CLASS

Irish Dancing is not just a solo sport, there are team competitions too! This class is for Non- championship and Championship level students aged 6–14yrs old who wish to partake in team (“ceili”) competitions. Students will learn traditional Irish Ceili dances in small groups and will have the opportunity to compete at the State Ceili Championships in August. Most dancers find teams the most enjoyable part of Irish dancing as it is more relaxed than solo dancing, and they are able to work together with their dancing friends.

In 2014 Rince Le Nor won the NSW Junior Figure Dancing Championship, where 14 of our students worked together to create a piece that depicts a Celtic story. So come along and be a part of our Junior State Ceili team!

CHAMPION

SHIP LEVEL

This class is catered for students competing at AIO, State and National level only (this includes the 6 & Under championship level). Students will learn and master their 3 rounds of solo dancing to compete at Championship level competitions. Students must have competed at Elementary level for a minimum of 1 year,

and all dancers must sign Dance Contracts to understand goals and expectations. These classes are intense, and combine strength and agility workouts with Irish dance fitness workouts to help dancers be the best they can be. While the intensity level is high, students in this class have common goals and work together to support each other creating a well-rounded encouraging atmosphere, which is essential for success.
